Natalie Cole has been admitted to hospital
Singer Natalie Cole has been admitted to hospital suffering from the side effects of medication she was taking for hepatitis C.

The Grammy-winning artist has been in a New York hospital since September 12th and will remain there for a number of days, her publicist Maureen O'Connor said.

Cole, the daughter of jazz legend Nat King Cole, announced in July she was suffering from hepatitis C claiming it was likely caused by her previous drug use.

O'Connor said the singer had been responding well to the treatment but blamed her medication and busy promotional schedule for the hospital visit.

"We are cancelling her activities in October, but we do expect her to have a complete recovery. She just needs some rest," Cole's publicist said.

Cole was in the process of promoting her new album Still Unforgettable.
