Pete Doherty has been released from prison after completing 29 days of a 14-week sentence.
The Babyshambles frontman was jailed in April after violating the terms of his probation order.
But the former Libertine has now been freed from Wormwood Scrubs prison in west London, meaning his planned performance at this year's Glastonbury Festival should now go ahead.
The 29-year-old was forced to cancel a solo show at the Royal Albert Hall after his imprisonment, which was due to "his breach of time keeping, non-compliance of his [drug] order and using different drugs", according to a spokesperson from the listing department at West London magistrates' court.
And tabloid reports during his incarceration claimed the singer-songwriter had been moved to a safe area of the prison after officers discovered a plan among fellow inmates to attack him.
Leaving the jail on Tuesday morning, Doherty told reporters he was eagerly anticipating spending time with his pet cats, as well as the opportunity to drink a rum and coke.
Prison life included "a lot of gangsters and Radio 4", he said and remarked: "Thank you Mrs Thatcher for putting me in the company of the most dangerous criminals in the country" as he left the jail.
Doherty also brandished a certificate which showed he had passed a drugs test while imprisoned.
When asked if he had taken drugs during his stint in jail - after reports had claimed he had been seen injecting heroin in his cell - he replied: "Well, I knew it was going to be a bit rough to start with, with the overcrowding and the medical facilities although they do their best - they are good, they can't really cater for the average junkie..."
