George Michael ending live career

Monday, 25 Aug 2008 11:21
George Michael drawing his live career to a close
George Michael will perform another of his final gigs ever at Earl's Court tonight.

The Jesus To A Child star is wowing fans with one of the most drawn-out series of farewell shows ever as he seeks a return – eventually – to a quieter life.

Last night he played at Earl's Court in a show dubbed The Final Two – a reference to his 1986 Wembley show with Andrew Ridgeley, The Final, in which they drew a close to their Wham! career.

Michael, on the top of his game, began with Fastlove and finished with Careless Whisper two-and-a-half hours later in a gig which has been widely praised by critics.

The second The Final Two concert will take place tonight. This, it seems, will only be his penultimate concert, however.

He plays The Final One in Copenhagen next Saturday night. An autobiography is expected later this year, as well as a Christmas single.
