'No plans' for Madonna and Guy to divorce, says rep

Madonna's rep says no plans for singer and husband to divorce
There are no plans for Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie to divorce, according to her representative.

Speculation has increased in recent months that the Material Girl and her director husband are living separate lives and are close to splitting.

And it was reported by the Sun newspaper on Friday that Ritchie had flown to New York in a 'last-ditch' bid to save his seven-year marriage.

But Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg has issued a statement to People magazine rubbishing any reports of an imminent split.

"Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving)," she said.

"There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."

Rosenberg also hit back at rumours that Madonna and New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez were beginning a relationship, after tabloid reports claimed the baseball star had been seen sneaking away from a hotel.

"Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary," Rosenberg explained.

"They have met. They know each other and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."

She added: "It's nothing new that people are airing tons of dirty laundry Madonna's way lately – much of it untrue."

And she joked: "By the way, rumours of Madonna and [rap star] Lil Wayne are quite exaggerated, as well!"

Madonna is currently in rehearsals for her 42-date Sticky and Sweet tour.End of story
