Lily Allen was nominated in four categories
Lily Allen has blamed bias on the judging panel for the Brit awards as the reason why she went home empty handed from Wednesday night's ceremony.
The 21-year-old singer was nominated in four categories, including best British female, best album and best single.
Speaking to MTV News, outspoken Allen said that her failure to win any of them was simply down to politics.
"I already know I won't win any awards. I bet you £100 I'll get nothing," she said before the show.
"The judging committee are all industry insiders and they're predominantly from Universal [Records] - and I'm on EMI. I think you'll find that 70 per cent of the artists here tonight are on Universal. I'll leave you with that."
Further controversy was generated today after British tabloid the Daily Mirror reported that Allen had been left in tears following a fight with fellow singer Amy Winehouse, who left the Brits with the award for best British female.
But spokespeople for both women have denied that there is any kind of rift, with Winehouse's people claiming that Allen was simply "tired and emotional".
