Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has continued to fuel rumours that the legendary band could embark on a world tour.

The Whole Lotta Love stars had maintained that their reunion show at London's O2 Arena in December last year was a one-off with lead singer Robert Plant telling Uncut magazine that their performance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert was all the reformed rockers had planned.

But bass player John Paul Jones raised hopes of a series of concerts while talking to Rolling Stone earlier this month, explaining that the band had a band meeting scheduled to discuss future plans.

And now Page's comments while speaking to reporters in Tokyo have suggested that their eagerly-awaited London reunion may have been a precursor to a tour.

"I can assure you the amount of work that we put into the O2, for ourselves rehearsing and the staging of it was probably what you put into a world tour," he explained.

However, any plans to jet around the world will be delayed until September, he explained, due to Plant's touring commitments with Alison Krauss while promoting their Grammy-nominated album Raising Sand.

"Robert Plant has a parallel project running and he's really busy with that project," Page added. "Certainly until September, so I can't give you any news."

Plant also seems to have opened the tour to a Led Zeppelin tour, telling New York's Madison Square Garden Network: "You never know what is around the corner.

"It's just nice to play with those guys," he added during the halftime broadcast at a New York Knicks game.

Around 20 million people tried to register for £125 tickets to the December 11th reunion concert, which also featured Pete Townshend, Foreigner, Bill Wyman and Paolo Nutini.
