Jury hears Boy George admit handcuffing in interview
A jury has heard a taped police interview in which Boy George admitted to handcuffing a male escort.

The singer told police in the interview he had restrained Audun Carlsen because he feared he was tampering with his laptop.

Boy George – real name George O'Dowd – denies unlawfully detaining the 29-year-old at his flat in April 2007.

The former Culture Club singer told police in the recording that Mr Carlsen had obtained naked photos of himself from his laptop.

He told police that he wanted to find out if this was true so invited Mr Carlson to his flat.

"I asked him to come because I wanted to find out if this guy had borrowed my stuff," Mr O'Dowd said on the tape.

The singer then explained he had a friend to help detain Mr Carlsen while he checked the computer and his phone.

Mr O'Dowd also admitted handcuffing and spanking Mr Carlsen on another occasion but said this was only with his consent.

The trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court continues.
