Mick Jagger is suffering from laryngitis
Mick Jagger's throat problems have led to the cancellation of a second Spanish Rolling Stones gig.
The band has confirmed that the planned concert in El Ejido in southern Spain tomorrow night is off.
The news follows the cancellation of last night's planned gig in Valladolid and raises concerns about whether the band will be fit to play at Twickenham, south-west London, on Sunday.
Jagger has been struck down with laryngitis and ordered to rest by doctors, putting the rest of the band's A Bigger Bang tour in jeopardy.
"I am very sorry to be cancelling this show as well," Jagger said.
"But unfortunately I have no other choice and I apologise to everyone who bought tickets for El Ejido."
Full refunds were offered to the 37,000 ticketholders for last night's show and the same procedure will now go ahead for tomorrow's gig.
The Stones were already forced to postpone a number of European gigs after guitarist Keith Richards suffered head injuries in Fiji at the turn of the year and permanently cancelled concerts in the German cities of Nuremberg and Leipzig.
The European leg of the tour was due to see shows in Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, France, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Portugal, as well as the UK.
Following Sunday's gig at Twickenham, a second show was due at the rugby stadium next Tuesday, before performances at Glasgow's Hampden Park (August 25th), Sheffield's Don Valley stadium (August 27th) and the Cardiff Millennium stadium (August 29th).
