The inthenews.co.uk interview with Katy Perry continues.

I Kissed A Girl and Hot N Cold have been your biggest hits so far but are they your favourite songs on the album?

I Kissed A Girl most definitely is. Hot N Cold is as catchy as a pop song but may not have the same dimensions and I think it's as fun. But I'm definitely excited to show up other sides of my music.

Like Thinking of You? That's a different style.

Yeah, that's going to be the next single.

Does that get a good response from fans because of the lyrical content?

It gets the best response. Especially at live shows.

Do people cry?

Yes!

Seriously?

They do! Isn't that interesting? But people do get emotional when they hear that song, because I think a lot of people go through that stuff so it hits them where they remember it happening to them. And it's just me with my guitar, rather than all the pyro and the dancers and the glitter, and I enjoy taking advantage of that, but sometimes it's nice to be able to take all that away and just do what I was put here to do!

Is that a direction you might go in on the next album? Are you even thinking about your next album?

I'll start thinking about it next year, I'm going to get through this year first. I'd love to do an acoustic record - I don't think it'll be the next one but it'll be soon. Maybe I'll do an EP. I shouldn't say that and not do it! (laughs) I have a lot of those types of songs though. Maybe I'll do it under a different name like Beyonce's doing with Sasha Fierce! (laughs)

Check out the Ur So Gay video below:

Have you got an alter ego?

No, I've got too many personalities of my own! (laughs)

So what artists are you listening to at the moment?

I just got the new John Legend album. He's the best. His lyrics are really good. I love the Estelle record and the Ting Tings. I actually like, and I know this going to sound really 'hipster' and gross for 'pop girl Katy' to say she likes Crystal Castles. People are probably going to say: 'Shh! F**k you!' Well, sorry, I do, and it's on iTunes so I can download it too! (laughs) I like that record though, I love that it doesn't really make any sense but sounds good.

And I love the girls too, like Sia and Adele. And old stuff like Patti Griffin and Jonathan Brook. I like the stories they tell.
