Tickets for this summer's V Festival have sold out just 90 minutes after being made available for sale.
Festival organisers said all 80,000 tickets for the August event had been snapped up within an hour and a half, which is half the amount of time they took to sell out last year.
Tickets are already appearing on auction website eBay for hundreds of pounds; although a small number of green transport-linked passes are still available on the festival's official site.
Festival director Bob Angus said: "We are chuffed to bits to sell out in just 90 minutes. It is testament to this year's great line up."
This year's V Festival, which began in 1996, will feature headline sets from Muse and the Verve at its twin venues in Chelmsford's Hylands Park, Essex, and Weston Park, Staffordshire.
Amy Winehouse who pulled out of the 2007 event the Stereophonics and Lenny Kravitz are also appearing during the two-day festival, which begins on August 16th.
They will be joined by a host of other artists including the Prodigy, Sugababes, Kings of Leon, the Kooks, Maximo Park, Newton Faulkner, Duffy and Amy Macdonald.
