Paris Hilton has defended Britney Spears' social life since splitting with her second husband Kevin Federline.
As a mother-of-two, some press reports have criticised Britney for her numerous late nights out on the town and being pictured looking just a little worse for wear, with paparazzi on some occasions getting an eyeful of a knicker-less Brit.
Writing on her MySpace page, Paris said that Britney loves her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, "to death".
"I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her," the celebrity socialite writes. "She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting.
"She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children. For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind."
Paris' comments come after the 25-year-old singer defended herself on her website, where she argued that she hadn't properly celebrated her birthday in a long time and promised that a "new me" would be unveiled in the new year.
