Doherty pleads guilty to drugs charges

Babyshambles vocalist Doherty was arrested by police on three occasions
Singer Pete Doherty has pled guilty to seven counts of possessing drugs including heroin, cocaine and cannabis.

The Babyshambles front man made the plea before Thames Magistrates Court this morning in east London after spending the night in custody.

Self-confessed drug addict Doherty is charged with three counts of possessing cocaine, two of possessing heroin and two of cannabis.

The 27-year-old musician was arrested by police on three separate occasions between April 20th and August 7th this year.

Sentencing has been adjourned until September 4th, ITN reports, when Doherty is due to face a review of his community order.

Doherty made headlines earlier this week when he was pictured with ex-girlfriend Kate Moss, prompting rumours that the pair were back together.

Supermodel Moss, who was said to be sporting an "engagement ring" during a party held by the troubled twosome last weekend, lost a series of modelling contracts last year after a tabloid newspaper published photos of her allegedly snorting cocaine in a London recording studio where Doherty and his band were working.End of story
