Pete Bennett, who won the seventh series of Big Brother, has teamed up with Robbie Williams' songwriting chum Guy Chambers to take the charts by storm.
The Tourette's-suffering rocker, whose larger-than-life antics won the hearts of the voting public, had been set to follow up his reality TV success with a wave-surfing tour with his band, Daddy Fantastic.
But at a showcase with record execs, it turned out the band were absolutely useless, leaving Chambers to set Pete up for chart success on a solo artist basis.
Chambers told BBC Six Music that they had already been working on Pete's debut single, a "fast.techno thrash" tune which is thoroughly in keeping with Pete's personality.
He added that one of the virtues of the recording studio was the happy ability to edit out any unplanned swear words - probably a good thing in the case of Pete, whose ability to churn out unpredictable flowery language is almost limitless.
It is unclear what the other members of Daddy Fantastic feel about Pete's abandonment of them. The Sunday Mirror newspaper reports that Nimbus, Wobbly Bob and The Baron have all tried to contact their former bandmate, but with absolutely no success.
