Rihanna has held on to the top spot in the UK charts with her single Umbrella, featuring the vocal talents of Jay-Z.

The star held off competition from Mutya Buena, who moved from number nine to number two with her track Real Girl.

Her new album is released on June 4th and is the first big solo offering from the former Sugababe.

Also releasing an album on Monday are the Twang with Love It When I Feel Like This and the band scored a number eight hit with their single Either Way.

An alternative mix with Streets supremo Mike Skinner on vocals is also available, complete with a video filmed at Brighton beach.

In other chart news, Calvin Harris secured the highest new entry with his song Girls debuting at number nine in the charts.

The unstoppable Timbaland is still hanging on at number seven with his Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado collaboration Give it to Me, which has shown strong download sales.

Also in the top ten are Gym Class Heroes with their ever-present hit Cupid's Chokehold and Maroon Five with Makes me Wonder.

The US band have also scored a number one album and look strong going into next week's album charts.
