Coldplay album 'in a month'

Monday, 04 Feb 2008 14:59
Coldplay's new album is not going to be called Prospekt
British band Coldplay have said that their new album will be ready in "four or five weeks".

Chris Martin and co say that the recording of the band's fourth album is well on course after "the most productive and rewarding" week they have ever had in a studio.

But they have doused rumours that the follow-up to the critically-acclaimed X&Y will be called Prospekt.

Writing on their blog on their official website, the band say they are having a "brief rest before the final push" on their much-anticipated album.

According to reports, the new LP is scheduled for release on May 19th and it appears as though things are on course for that plan.

"Another four or five weeks and we should be home and dry," the band wrote.

"Another ten mixes and recording one of the songs from scratch."

They also revealed that two of the new songs – Strawberry Swing and Lovers in Japan – were recorded in a highly-productive spell in the studios just before Christmas which left them "buzzing".

"Since then, mixing has been slow and painstaking but that's just the nature of the beast," they added.

"So...give us another month or so and we might just have an album worthy of your patience."

The band's new album is being produced by Brian Eno, while in-vogue artist Timbaland is also said to be helping to put the record together in New York.End of story
