Official documents 'confirm' Beyonce-Jay-Z marriage

Marriage licence confirming the nuptials of Beyonce and Jay-Z 'filed in New York'
A marriage licence confirming the nuptials of Beyonce and Jay-Z has been filed in New York State, according to local officials.

It was reported earlier this month that the former Destiny's Child member, 26, and the 38-year-old Brooklyn rap star had married in Manhattan, with rumours fuelled when Beyonce applied for a marriage licence at a village hall in Scarsdale, New York on Tuesday April 1st.

But while the pair have not confirmed their marriage, Scarsdale clerk Donna Conkling has revealed that a signed wedding licence - which lists the wedding date as Friday April 4th - has now been received by state officials.

Ms Conkling told People magazine that although the licence, signed by the official in charge of the wedding ceremony, was filed more than five days after the wedding - a legal requirement - a penalty for its late reception is likely to be waived, as is common practice for new couples.

Guests at the wedding ceremony, believed to have taken place at Jay-Z's apartment in Manhattan's Tribeca district, are thought to have included Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles, her father and manager Mathew, her sister Solange, Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Jay-Z, headlining the Pyramid Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival, and Beyonce have been dating since 2002 but have never publicly acknowledged their relationship.

However, they have collaborated on a number of hit singles, including Crazy in Love, Deja Vu and '03 Bonnie and Clyde.End of story
