Witherspoon met Gyllenhaal on the set of Rendition
Actress Reese Witherspoon has reportedly rekindled her romance with old flame Jake Gyllenhaal, according to the Hollywood rumour mill.

The pair, who are rumoured to have secretly dated after meeting on the set of their upcoming movie Rendition, are now said by friends to be back together again after splitting earlier this summer due to Witherspoon's reported desire to spend more time with her children.

The Legally Blonde actress has two children, seven-year-old Ava and three-year-old Deacon, with estranged husband Ryan Phillippe.

Commenting on her reported romance with Gyllenhaal, an unnamed pal of the star told US Weekly magazine: "Reese came to terms with the fact that she can have a relationship and spend time with her kids."

Meanwhile it has been announced that Witherspoon is to become the new face of Avon, after signing a deal to become the cosmetic giant's first ever "global ambassador".

According to the company the actress will be the spokeswoman for its beauty brands and act as an "inspiration" to Avon sales staff around the world.

Witherspoon said that she was "very excited" about her new role.

"Avon is more than an iconic world class beauty leader - it is a company that is known the world over as a crusader for women's causes," the actress proclaimed in a somewhat dramatic statement.End of story
