US actress Farrah Fawcett has died after a long-fought battle with cancer, her spokesman has confirmed.
The 62-year-old died at St John's hospital in Santa Monica on Friday, finally succumbing to the anal cancer she was first diagnosed with in 2006.
Fawcett shot to fame in the 1970s thanks to her role as Jill Munroe in the TV show Charlie's Angels.
In total she was nominated for six Golden Globes throughout her career and in 1995 was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Her battle with cancer also saw her draw large TV audiences through the series Farrah's Story which documented her battle against the disease.
The actress was married to star Lee Majors, star of The Six Million Dollar Man, between 1973 and 1982 and her long-time partner actor Ryan O'Neal recently announced the pair would marry.
