Tamzin bags Woody Allen role
British actress Tamzin Outhwaite has landed a role in the latest Woody Allen film.

Although many TV stars from the UK wax lyrical about their desire to make it big in Hollywood and then never do so, it seems that the former EastEnders actress has been more successful than most.

Tamzin will star alongside Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as a brassy blonde in the as-yet untitled film.

The 30-year-old actress has already spent time filming scenes in the UK.

A friend of the star told the Sun: "Tamzin wants to crack Hollywood so this is a dream come true for her. She is thrilled."

It seems that Woody Allen is currently having a love affair with England, as it is the third film shot in the UK in recent years. Match Point and Scoop, both starring Scarlett Johansson, were filmed in London.

Following her stint in EastEnders as Ian Beale's wife Melanie, Tamzin has since won acclaim for her roles in the TV dramas Vital Signs, Hotel Babylon and Red Cap.
