Rising star Brandon Routh is to marry his girlfriend, the actress Courtney Ford.
The actor, made famous through his role in the recent hit Superman Returns, told People magazine that he is absolutely smitten with her and that he proposed earlier this month.
"She brings me to my knees," he said.
The pair met three years ago in a very un-Hollywood style at Lucky Strike, a trendy bowling alley in LA.
"I used to work at Lucky Strike. I was a bartender. And her brother was having his [wedding] rehearsal dinner party there," Routh said.
His fiance added: "He met my whole family the day he met me."
The lucky lady's ring was purchased from Los Angeles jeweler Neil Lane and the pair are set to wed next Autumn.
Unusually by Hollywood standards, the pair have managed to keep their relationship largely out of the view of the media, E! online reports, and managed to cope with the separations during filming by speaking to each other every night on the phone.
The pair star together in the short thriller Denial.
