The wife of a stuntman injured while filming with Tom Cruise is suing the star's production company as she claims her husband is no longer able to have sex with her as a result.
Steven Scott Wheatley, who was working on the upcoming Cruise blockbuster Mission:Impossible III, suffered severe burns after a car rigged with explosives burst into flames on set in California.
Wheatley, who suffered third-degree burns covering more than 60 per cent of his body, is suing Cruise/Wagner productions, distributors Paramount and the owners of the Agua Dulce Movie Ranch on a number of charges, including negligence, pain and suffering and lost earnings.
His wife, Mary, is claiming damages for 'loss of consortium', a technical term for the inability of a marital partner to have sex.
The stuntman claims the stunt, involving a Chevrolet Suburban SUV, "malfunctioned", engulfing him in a "ball of fire".
None of the defendants has commented on the charges or the impending Los Angeles court case.
M:I III is due to be released in the US in May and is pencilled in to hit the UK later this year.
