Two employees of a US TV station have been sacked after accusations that they trespassed in the grounds of Brad Pitt's Hollywood mansion.
Construction workers initially spotted the E! Networks producer and cameraman ignoring a no trespassing sign on October 20th, and the network has emphasised that it has never instructed "anyone working on its programme to improperly intrude onto private property".
"The network in no way condones or encourages such behaviour and would like to offer its most sincere apologies to Mr Pitt and his family," the company statement added.
After being alerted by the construction workers, Pitt's security team then contacted the LA police department.
"We think they opened the gate," the actor's representative Cindy Guagenti said.
The 42-year-old is currently in India alongside partner Angelina Jolie, who is shooting her new film A Mighty Heart, which is based on the memoirs of murdered Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl's widow.
