Two more Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire are being planned, according to a report.
Director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire are set to team up again for the fourth and fifth instalments of the comic book franchise, according to US magazine Hollywood Insider.
Columbia is said to be considering shooting the films back-to-back, like New Line did with the Lord of the Rings, in order to save money.
The producers are aiming for a 2011 release for Spider-Man 4, nine years after the first film's debut, according to Hollywood Insider.
There is no confirmation on whether Kirsten Dunst, who played Mary Jane Watson to Maguire's Peter Parker in the films, will be involved.
Zodiac writer Jamie Vanderbilt is reportedly working on the screenplay.
The magazine also said Sony is developing a Spider-Man spinoff featuring villain Venom, who was played by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3.
However, there was no word on whether Grace would be reprising his role in the new film.
