In Hollywood most women are usually told to lose weight if they want to land roles in films, but for once someone has said that Gwyneth Paltrow needs to put on a few pounds for a new movie.
The svelte actress is to play the German entertainer and singer Marlene Dietrich in a film about her life.
But Dietrich's daughter Maria Riva has said that Gwyneth and her fellow actresses are just too skinny to star as her mother.
Looking back to the good old days of Hollywood past, she told the Daily Express: "There wasn't a star in Hollywood back then that was as thin as today's actresses."
Dietrich's close friend Grace Bradley Boyd has also waded into the issue, according to the Sun, saying that "studios wouldn't have signed skinny women in my day".
"I think Gwyneth will need some helpings of good old apple pie and plenty of ice cream!" she added.
Gwyneth is returning to work after taking time out to be with her husband, the Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and their two children.
She is appearing in The Good Night and is set to star in Iron Man; work which she claims makes her "more interesting as a wife and mother".
