After months of speculation Tom Cruise has announced that he is to wed Katie Holmes later this summer.
Although it was thought that the pair would have married by now, the birth of their yet-to-be-seen baby daughter Suri in April put all plans on hold.
But everything seems to be going swimmingly with the pair as the Top Gun and Mission Impossible star's spokesman announced that a wedding was imminent.
"As far as I know, the plans are for late summer, maybe a bit later," Paul Blach said.
He added that the ceremony was likely to take place in private at one of the couple's homes.
The only spanner in the works for the couple's happiness is Katie's parents' response to Cruise's Scientology beliefs.
As devout Catholics her parents have been reported as expressing discontent with their daughter marrying in a non-Catholic wedding.
Cruise however is remaining stubborn and is said to have refused to consider conducting two ceremonies.
