Film producers in Hollywood make final offer to actors
Film producers in Hollywood have made a final offer to actors in their pay dispute in the hope of ending the current standoff.

Only hours before the current contract expired, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) offered actors a new three-year deal.

The offer is said to be worth over £125 million and AMPTP claims it addresses the actors' concerns over revenue from new media.

In response, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) though said the offer was not very promising.

"This offer does not appear to address some key issues important to actors," SGA executive director Doug Allen.

Hollywood is desperate to avoid a repeat of the recent 100-day Screen Writers Guild strike which caused considerable disruption to film and TV production.
