Robin Williams wife' Marsha Garces Williams files for divorce
The wife of actor and comedian Robin Williams is divorcing him after 19 years of marriage, it has been revealed.
Court papers showed Marsha Garces Williams filed her petition for divorce in San Francisco last week, citing irreconcilable differences.
The couple, who married in 1989, have been separated since the new year and have two children, 18-year-old daughter Zelda and 16-year-old son Cody.
Garces Williams, 51, is seeking joint custody of Cody, court papers said.
She had initially met Williams, 56, after becoming nanny to his son Zachary when his marriage with Valerie Valadri, Zachary's mother, broke down.
Garces Williams co-owns production company Blue Wolf Productions with her estranged husband and has produced films such as Mrs Doubtfire and Patch Adams.
She also jointly founded non-profit organisation the Windfall Foundation.
Williams, whose career began with 1970s sitcom Mork and Mindy, received the best supporting actor Oscar for Good Will Hunting in 1997 and has been nominated for best actor three times for Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and The Fisher King.
