Spice Girls world tour to begin in Vancouver, Canada
The Spice Girls have started their reunion tour with a sell-out show in Vancouver, Canada, with more than 15,000 fans in attendance.

The gig saw the classic line up of Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Victroria Beckham and Geri Halliwell onstage together for the first time in nine years.

The girl power group last performed as a five-piece in 1998, before Halliwell quit the band.

Beckham's husband David made a surprise appearance having flown in from New Zealand, where he is on tour with his football team LA Galaxy.

And the England player joined an enthusiastic crowd in watching the girl band perform a 22-song set, including all nine of their number one singles and latest release Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).

The show was split into four 'acts' with Halliwell and Chisholm also performing their solo releases It's Raining Men and I Turn To You.

The full Spice Girls set was as follows:

Act one - 'The Power of 5'
Spice Up Your Life
Stop
Say You'll Be There
Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)

Act two - 'Seduce Me'
Lady Is A Vamp
Too Much
2 Become 1

Act three - 'Bittersweet'
Who Do You Think You Are?
Are You Gonna Go My Way?
Maybe
Cape Dance Segue/Viva Forever
Holler
It's Raining Men
I Turn To You

Act four - 'Celebration'
Let Love Lead The Way
Mama
Celebration Medley
Goodbye

Encore
Humpty Dance (Dance Segue)/If U Can't Dance
Wannabe
Spice Up Your Life (Reprise)

After Vancouver they are due to perform in Los Angeles and Las Vegas before their first UK gig at the O2 Arena.

Concerts in Cape Town, Shanghai and Buenos Aires follow for the Spice Girls, who had nine UK number one singles to their name before disbanding in 2001.

Last month the group performed their new single Headlines for the BBC's Children in Need from LA.

After yesterday's full dress rehearsal Geri told the Spice Girls' official website that she was not nervous, but "really, really excited".

But Mel C said: "We are pretty petrified but we're just so excited. We feel really lucky to have a second opportunity to do this."End of story
