Bollywood film to be made about Scarlett's death
A Bollywood director is planning to make a film based on 15-year-old British teenager Scarlett Keeling's death in Goa.

Scarlett Keeling was raped and murdered at Goa's Anjuna beach in February.

At first the authorities claimed she had drowned, but after a campaign by her mother two people were arrested.

The case has sparked concerns over the safety of tourists in the area and of the way the police handled the matter.

Director Prabhakar Shukla plans to start work on the film, Rave Party, in July, according to reports.

"It will be a Bollywood film with a tinge of reality as I want people to come to the theatres and learn from the film," Shukla told Reuters.

"Everyone should learn and see what is happening to tourists in Goa."

However, Scarlett's mother Fional MacKeown told the Times she had reservations about the propsed film.

"I'd like to know how they're going to portray it, or I won't approve it," she said. "I'm not sure about calling it Rave Party. Scarlett was not at a party. She was raped and murdered on the beach."

Police say the teenager was high on alcohol, ecstasy, LSD and cocaine, when she was raped.

The suspects in the case are an alleged local drug dealer and a barman, who are accused of plying Scarlett with drugs and alcohol the night she died.

Mrs MacKeown said she believes the person who killed her daughter is a "powerful person", with money and is pushing for India's Central Bureau of Investigation to take over the case from the local police.End of story
