Just as their illustrious partners prepare to take on Paraguay in the World Cup opener, England's footballers' wives have all jetted into Germany, with one conspicuous absentee.
Victoria Beckham's flight to Baden-Baden, the national team's HQ and training base, was delayed at Madrid airport after engine failure.
Midfielder Frank Lampard's fiancee, the stunning Catalan Elen Rives, was also forced to alter her travel plans after problems with her luggage forced her to catch another flight from Heathrow.
However, the rest of the team's wives, fiancees and girlfriends made the trip unscathed with Wayne Rooney's other half Coleen McLoughlin, Alex Curran, who recently gave birth to Steven Gerrard's first child and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Tweedy – Ashley Cole's fiancee all checking in at the luxurious Brenner's Park Hotel & Spa, where 30 suites have been laid on for the guests.
Just imagine the baggage handling fees for all that lot... Previous distinguished clients at the hotel include former US president Bill Clinton and ex-South African leader Nelson Mandela.
Other smiling faces jetting into Germany include Peter Crouch's non-robotic partner Abigail Clancy, Joe Cole's gal Carly Zucker and teenage sensation Theo Walcott's girlfriend Melanie Slade, 17, who should surely be at home revising for her AS exams.
