Coldplay pay tribute to robo-Crouch
Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin has revealed he and his band are planning to release a musical tribute to everybody's favourite comedy footballer all of a sudden Peter Crouch.
The single will of course focus on the robotic dancing antics of said Crouch, who the nation have taken into their hearts for his crazy moves and keen eye for goal.
However, their song will only be released if, and it's a rather big one, England win the World Cup.
Speaking at this weekend's Isle of Wight festival, Martin told a screaming crowd: "I've got a secret to share with you.
"If England do well in the World Cup we're going to release a single called do the Crouch."
As his bemused-looking bandmates gazed on, the singer launched into the chorus of the future hit: "Get up off the sofa, get up off the couch, stop what you're doing and do the Crouch," he sang.
We're not sure if this is a joke either, but then Martin's wife Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted in the crowd doing a pretty bad impression of Crouch's immortal dance.
But one major stumbling block for the Crouch song ever getting to number one is that the man himself is tiring of his own antics.
"It's not about robotic dancing. It is about scoring goals and winning matches. It's an important time for everyone now," said the giant striker.
"It's serious business
though we might all do it if we win the World Cup."
