Gossip Girl, the Jonas Brothers and David Beckham were the big winners at the Teen Choice awards, held in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The CW drama - which screens on ITV2 in the UK - tells of a group of Manhattan teenagers whose lives and loves are chronicled on an anonymous blog and claimed six prizes at the tenth annual Teen Choice ceremony.

Created by The OC's Josh Schwartz, it scooped the best drama and best breakout show prizes, while leading lady Blake Lively took the best television drama actress award and the breakout female trophy.

Chace Crawford took the male equivalent while the best villain award was scooped by English actor Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl.

Westwick was not the only British winner on the night, with Keira Knightley taking the best movie drama actress gong and David Beckham winning the choice male athlete prize just one year after relocating to Los Angeles.

Six awards were claimed by pop trio the Jonas, winning the best single, breakout group, love song, song of the summer, male red carpet fashion icons and male hottie prizes, while R 'n' B singer Chris Brown claimed five wins.

Other big winners included Will Smith with three trophies, Juno with three and Heroes' Hayden Panettiere for the best TV action/adventure actress award.
