Janet Jackson forced to cancel two further shows on comeback tour
Janet Jackson has been forced to cancel two further shows on her comeback tour, having been hospitalised earlier this week.
The Control singer was preparing for her show in Montreal, Canada, when she was taken ill and rushed to hospital on Monday.
And her shows in Boston and Philadelphia have now been delayed until further notice following the brief hospital stay.
It is not yet clear what caused the illness. The 42-year-old is currently on her Rock Witchu tour, which features raunchy scenes of sadomasochism and has already been blighted by a previous dropout.
Her show in Detroit last Friday had to be scrapped because of "production constraints".
A source close to Jackson's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri is quoted by People magazine as citing "exhaustion" as the reason for her stay in hospital.
A 42-year-old body can't handle what a 22-year-old body can," said the source. "I can tell you that she's definitely tired. It was probably exhaustion. She is doing back-to-back, three-hour shows, and her body isn't the same as it used to be."
The North American tour is scheduled to continue until October 22nd, with stopovers in New York, Atlanta and Dallas.
