Branagh, Ifans and Jones set for Richard Curtis project

Kenneth Branagh, Rhys Ifans and January Jones to star in new Richard Curtis comedy The Boat That Rocked
Kenneth Branagh and Rhys Ifans have been confirmed as stars of the new Richard Curtis comedy The Boat That Rocked.
The British pair will be joined by American actress January Jones, working for Curtis for the second time after a brief appearance as one of the excitable American girls in Love, Actually.
Set to begin shooting on March 3rd, the film sees Branagh and Ifans starring as pirate radio DJs broadcasting from a boat during the 1970s.
Jones, best know for starring turns in American Wedding and acclaimed US drama Mad Men, will star as a American woman visiting the pirate radio ship who falls for her boyfriend's DJ friend, the role played by Ifans, reports Variety.
A Working Title production, the movie will be produced by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, along with Hillary Bevan-Jones and Curtis.
Though he was responsible for co-creating the character of Mr Bean - whose Holiday hit the screen last year - the film will mark Curtis' first feature screenwriting project since 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of the Reason.
And the March start date will see the Blackadder writer stepping into the director's chair for the first time since Love, Actually in 2003.
Branagh can next be seen in Bryan Singer's Valkyrie, the Tom Cruise-starring drama regarding a plot to assassinate Hitler, while Ifans' career breakthrough was at the hands of Curtis, in 1999's Notting Hill.
