Beyonce Knowles has had claims that she copied lyrics from another artist thrown out of court.
Singer-songwriter Jennifer Armour alleged that lyrics from her song Got a Little Bit of Love for You were substantially similar to those in Beyonce's Baby Boy on the award-winning album Dangerously in Love.
According to Ms Amour, her former manager sent demo recordings of her work to Columbia Records, which Beyonce is signed to.
However, a federal judge in Houston listened to the songs side by side and ruled that they were "substantially dissimilar".
In a statement issued on her behalf by her music management company, Music World Entertainment, Beyonce said: "It's unfortunate that lawsuits such as this one occur, but I am grateful and relieved to have this behind me and I am eager to move on."
Beyonce has been hitting the headlines recently for her energetic performance at Georgio Armani's charity night for Red, Bono's initiative to target world poverty.
The 25-year-old singer brought the crowds to their feet after she performed her number one hit Crazy in Love. No doubt part of the spring in her performance came from the three Mobo awards she was given just days before.
