Zaraah skates on as Greg Rusedski leaves Dancing on Ice

Greg Rusedski was voted off Dancing on Ice by the judges
Tennis star Greg Rusedski has left Dancing on Ice after the judges decided to keep Zaraah Abrahams on the show.

The Waterloo Road actress was placed in the final two after her dance to Shania Twain's That Don't Impress Me Much failed to impress viewers.

But the judges praised her "great routine", with Robin Cousins saying it was the best skating he has seen from her.

Despite Rusedski achieving his highest score of 20.5 points, judge Jason Gardiner described him and partner Kristina Lenko as "like a cleaner and a furniture removal man".

Deciding to go out with a bang, Rusedski performed a "death jump" - jumping over Kristina - to the delight of the judges and studio audience.

The show almost went ahead without two of its celebrities.

Singer Gareth Gates considered pulling out because of a migraine while former Hearsay singer Suzanne Shaw nearly had to quit after badly spraining and chipping a bone in her left ankle.

She was given the go-ahead on the day after several hours of physio and resting her ankle overnight.

"It's still uncomfortable and will be strapped up, but I've tried not to change the routine too much, and still want to be judged on merit, not because of my injury," she said.

"I'm just so relieved it's not broken and pleased to be allowed to skate as I'm thoroughly enjoying every moment, even though it's been one of the most difficult weeks."

Hollyoaks actor Chris Fountain managed to impress the judges once more after skating to Stuck In The Middle With You and was awarded 27 points, the highest score of last night's show.
