Budding West End stars could see their dreams coming true in a new TV talent search programme for the musical Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Any Dream Will Do comes hot on the heels of the success of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?, which discovered the talent of Connie Fisher and placed her in the lead role of the West End's Sound of Music.

Host Graham Norton and legendary producer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber join forces again to find a male to play Joseph and, as Sir Andrew puts it, a "smashing girl, a great boy and of course a Pharoah/Elvis".

"The success of How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? this summer was a real boost for musical theatre in Britain and I was particularly thrilled with the reaction from school children up and down the country," he said.

"I cannot wait to get them involved in Any Dream Will Do and to get back into the studio with Graham. Joseph started in schools and I am looking for a great school choir - to play in the West End."

Auditions in main cities in the UK will begin early next year and the show will broadcast in the summer.
