Shipwrecked contestant arrested

The reality TV show was filmed in Fiji
A teenage contestant on reality TV show Shipwrecked was arrested last night as he arrived back in the UK.

Louis Rennocks was arrested at Heathrow airport for failing to turn up in court over shoplifting charges at a Leicester supermarket.

The 19-year-old missed his court date at Leicester crown court because he was filming in Fiji. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court and according to reports Rennocks was arrested before disembarking from the flight by two armed police officers.

The Channel 4 show came under fire earlier this week for a race row sparked by one of its contestants. Gap year student Lucy Buchanan said on the show that black people were "really bad" and advocated a return to slavery.

"When I look out at what Britain is, it's just a complete mess. I don't appreciate how people come into our country and take over our country," she said.

"Britain's really not Britain anymore. My mind is completely open to different cultures, but I don't think they should bring them to Britain."

Ms Buchanan added: "I'm for the British empire and things. I'm for slavery, but that's never going to come back."

Ofcom said it received nearly 200 complaints about the comments.End of story
