Lindsay Lohan set for six-episode run in Ugly Betty

Lindsay Lohan to make Ugly Betty guest appearance
Lindsay Lohan is to make a guest appearance in hit sitcom Ugly Betty, it has been confirmed.

The Mean Girls actress will appear in six episodes of the comedy show, debuting in the show's season finale on May 22nd.

Her former high school classmate of Betty's (America Ferrara) will continue for five further episodes of the third season, the ABC network has announced.

The 21-year-old has not appeared on screen since 2007's I Know Who Killed Me, which swept the board at the Razzie awards, a ceremony aimed at honouring the worst films of the year.

The troubled starlet was arrested for drink-driving in May last year with police finding a "usable" amount of cocaine in the vehicle.

And as well as admitting herself to a rehabilitation facility on three occasions, she also served a day in prison for two DUI arrests and was involved in community service assignments with the American Red Cross and at a morgue in California.

However, the Bobby star said in March of this year that she intended to place a much greater focus on her career in future.

"My life was distracted by certain things and that got in the way of work," Lohan said at the launch of a Paper magazine cover story.

"But now I'm back on track and figuring out what's next."

Lohan's guest role in Ugly Betty follows a similar sitcom appearance by fellow young star Britney Spears, whose recent cameo in How I Met Your Mother was viewed by many as the beginning to a career resurrection after a tumultuous year.End of story
