Jeremy Beadle has died aged 59
TV presenter Jeremy Beadle has died aged 59 after losing a battle with pneumonia.

A statement from his family said Beadle, best known for his candid camera show Beadle's About, died with his wife Sue and close friends at his bedside.

He had been receiving treatment at a north London hospital, according to media reports.

Beadle's career peaked when his show Beadle's About convinced an unwitting victim she was present at an alien landing.

His popularity continued into the 1990s as he fronted home-video show You've Been Framed and Beadle remained busy in recent years on additional TV and writing projects.

Although diagnosed with cancer in 2005, a year which also saw him treated for leukemia, Beadle remained active, continuing his fundraising work for charities.

"Throughout his life, Jeremy was one of the most significant fundraisers for Children with leukemia and is estimated to have raised over £100 million for charities of all description," a statement said.

Beadle leaves behind his two daughters Cassie and Bonnie and step-children Leo and Claire as well as his wife Sue.
