Fawcett "feeling good" after chemo

Wednesday, 06 Dec 2006 13:47
Farrah Fawcett is perhaps best known for her role in Charlie's Angels
Farrah Fawcett is said to be "doing well" following her chemotherapy treatment for a cancerous tumour.

The 59-year-old actress, who rose to fame in Charlie's Angels, finished several weeks of the treatment last week.

Mike Pingel, her publicist, would not say what type of cancer she was treated for, but said that the prognosis was good.

"Her spirits are high, she's feeling good," he said. "Her plans are to recover and take the time to heal, and she's also looking forward to the holidays with her family."

Her former partner Ryan O'Neal, who has a 21-year-old son with Fawcett, told People magazine that since learning of the cancer, the actress has been "really extraordinary".

After appearing in Charlie's Angels in the 1970s, Fawcett went on to appear in a number of TV programmes, including Spin City and The Guardian – for which she received an Emmy nomination.
