Brandy involved in fatal car crash

Brandy was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Actress and RnB singer Brandy was involved in motorway crash last month that left one woman dead, it has emerged.

A California highway patrol report states that the 27-year-old, full name Brandy Norwood, was driving on the 405 freeway on December 30th when she failed to slow down and hit another car at about 65mph.

That car then collided with another vehicle, slid into the motorway's barrier and was struck by an oncoming car.

Its driver, 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj was taken to hospital but died of her injuries.

Her death has been ruled as an accident and the crash is under investigation.

Brandy was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

"She wishes to publicly express her condolences to the family of the deceased," her publicist said in a statement.

Brandy rose to fame in the television programme Moesha and has five albums and a Grammy award. She has also appeared as a judge on Simon Cowell's America's Got Talent.
