Larry David to star in upcoming project by Woody Allen.
Larry David is to star in the upcoming project by Woody Allen, according to reports.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm star has been lined up to play the lead role in the Manhattan director's next as-yet-untitled movie.

Set to begin shooting in New York City in the spring, details of the film's plot are not yet confirmed, though Entertainment Weekly reports that David will be joined in the feature by Thirteen and Across the Universe star Evan Rachel Wood.

The film will mark Allen's return to shooting in the US after filming three pictures in London and the upcoming Vicky Cristina Barcelona in the Catalan capital.

It was reported this week that the 72-year-old has signed a three-year deal with a Spanish distribution company to finance the production of his next three films.

David, the co-creator of Seinfeld, can currently be seen in the new series of Curb Your Enthusiasm, currently showing on More4, while Wood is rumoured to have been lined up for two very literary movie outings.

Though British model Lily Cole will play Alice in Marilyn Manson's upcoming Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, Wood is also set to star in her boyfriend's film, while she has also be linked with the part of Anne in Charles Sturridge's Bronte, a cinematic tale of the novelist sisters.
