MTV confirms new Paris Hilton 'Best Friend' reality show

MTV confirms production to begin on new reality show Paris Hilton's My New BFF.
MTV has confirmed that The Simple Life will not represent the end of Paris Hilton's television career with a new show about to begin production.

Paris Hilton's My New BFF will see a series of contestants vying to become the heiress' new companion - or 'BFF' (best friend forever).

Twenty hopefuls will endure a series of challenges involving loyalty, endurance and "girl politics" to secure Hilton's friendship and what MTV calls an "all-access pass to the VIP section of the VIP section and life lessons from the master of contemporary Hollywood celebrity".

Aspiring contestants must submit their details to www.parisbff.com where online voters will select the 20 finalists to move into a house with Hilton.

"Paris is one of the most-searched icons on the web and has been the focus of everyone's attention from TMZ to Forbes," explained Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV Networks Music Channels.

"Now MTV will reveal the life of Paris, turn her fans into friends and see what it takes to get close to one of the world's most well-known personalities."

Hilton reportedly co-created the show with former VH1 executive Michel Hirschorn and Stella Stolper and will begin shooting in Los Angeles in May, with MTV producing in conjunction with Ish Entertainment.

At a Hollywood news conference on Thursday, Hilton said she was looking for a 'best friend' that "I can just trust, someone who's not gonna stab me in the back like has happened a lot in this town, someone I can have fun with".
