Russell Brand is to go head-to-head with chat show king Jonathon Ross after Channel 4 announced that he is to have his own television chat show.
The five 45-minute shows will be aired from Friday November 24th at 23:05 GMT - half an hour after Ross' show begins on BBC 1.
Angela Jain, Channel 4's factual entertainment commissioning editor, said: "We're delighted to welcome Russell Brand onto Channel 4, especially as he's undoubtedly the man of the moment."
The Russell Brand Show will feature celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and live acoustic performances.
Celebrities confirmed to appear on the programme include Courtney Love and Morrissey.
Brand, who at one point was perhaps better known for his many sexual conquests than his career, has risen in profile recently through TV deals and an appearance at the high-profile Secret Policeman's Ball.
He has also just landed his own show on BBC Radio 2, where he will work alongside Ross, rather than in competition with him.
Speaking earlier this month, Brand said: "I am honoured to serve an apprenticeship under the tutelage of broadcast wisdom such as Ross, [Terry] Wogan and [Chris] Evans."
