Cheltenham Gold Cup runners and best bets

Fourteen runners have been declared for the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2011 and the question on many people's lips will be: Will it be another win for the old guard or will a new champion be crowned? Anyone betting each way on the race will be paid on the first three placings in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, meaning there isn't only value in backing the winner.
Kauto Star goes into the Gold Cup with the best record in the race. He has two wins and a second to his name and he will want the ground relatively quick to have his best chance. He is getting on a bit at eleven years of age and that same sentiment applies to his old rival Denman, who has won the race before and finished second twice.
The other previous winner to line up will be Imperial Commander, he won the race comfortably last season and has a great record at the course, winning five out of six races over fences at the venue. Some are predicting the older brigade will be upset by Long Run, the winner of the King George. He is unbeaten over fences elsewhere but has never won at Cheltenham in two attempts, will it be third time lucky?
