Shell is cutting North Sea jobs
Oil giant Shell is axing 180 jobs in Aberdeen, the company has announced.

A spokesperson from Shell said the office-based jobs would go over the next three years and were "a result of Royal Dutch Shell's continuing drive for efficiency."

Staff were told at a meeting on Wednesday morning.

Last June, Shell put several of its North Sea assets up for sale. The company has confirmed its commitment to the area, but North Sea oil is in decline, according to analysts.
