Husband of Corinne Bailey Rae found dead at an address in Leeds
Fans have paid tribute to Jason Rae, the late husband of Corinne Bailey Rae, after he was found dead on Saturday.
Though Bailey Rae has not made a public statement since her husband's death, her record label said: "EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time.
"We ask that the media respects Corinne's privacy and that of her entire family."
Fans of Jason Rae's band, the eight-piece Haggis Horns, have penned online tributes to the late musician, with Jay Smith from Manchester saying he was "really saddened to hear the news".
"I DJ'd with Jason when he was doing stuff with the New Mastersounds," he said on the social networking site Facebook.
"Big love to all the band and Corinne, RIP dude."
And Craig Coupe, from Leeds, added: "Rest in peace Jason, the Haggis Horns have always epitomised what's great about Leeds to me.
"My thoughts are with the rest of the band, I hope you all come through this, and with his family and friends dealing with the worst news any of you could get."
Another fan, writing on Bailey Rae's MySpace, offered "heartfelt condolences to Corinne and to her and Jason's family and friends".
"Corinne, we love you. You have proven to be a very strong and determined soul," the message continued.
Leeds-born Bailey Rae and Scottish-born Rae married in 2001, after meeting while she was working as a cloakroom attendant at a Leeds jazz club.
Rae, a 31-year-old saxophonist, was discovered at a flat in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, on Saturday.
A statement from West Yorkshire police said: "A 32-year-old man was arrested for supplying controlled substances and has since been released on police bail, pending further inquiries."
